Even Apple has acknowledged about the issues faced by the users, and despite making new updates, some people are still facing the same problems over and again with the third-gen butterfly keyboard that is the base of recent MacBook models. The Cupertino giant that came over last year had a regular keyboard service programme that was ideally made for fixing the sticky key issues on Macbooks.

The company also choose thin silicon covering hoping that it would solve the typing issue on Macbook and to a particular extent block, the ingress of dust thought that caused the problems. Joanna Stern of The Wall Street Journal, articulated by specifying the issues associated with the butterfly keyboard of MacBooks. A spokesperson from Apple noted that a few users were having the problems over the third generation butterfly keyboard. The spokesperson said the company is even feeling guilty over the situation. A publication specified that a majority of users did not face any problem with the new keyboard. However, Apple did not reveal the number of users who are facing difficulties over the third generation keyboard. The company has also faced a lawsuit last year and told that it would freely fix the keyboard that is affected by the problems.

In 2018, Apple introduced a thin, silicone covering on the top of the third generation architectural butterfly keyboards. However, the silicone layers made the keyboards quieter than before.
