It’s true that the United States President Donald Trump is famous for many things, and using Twitter like a pro is one of them. President Donal Trump indeed broke his own record for most tweets by tweeting a whopping number of 123 times in a single day.
The tweeting spree began on Friday after the House judiciary committee took a vote to approve articles of impeachment against him. The article, including two scaled-down charges against Donald Trump, did go down in history.
Angry or not, the President of the United States did express his emotions on his so-called ‘typewriter’ during the impeachment inquiry. With a tweet count of 77 on Wednesday and 105 on Sunday, Trump repeatedly declared his innocence. He also retweeted comments and videos of his supporters.
“It’s not fair that I’m being Impeached when I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong! The Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats have become the Party of Hate. They are so bad for our country!” Trump tweeted in defence.
In another tweet, Trump claimed to have done nothing wrong but done several things in the country’s favour. He included a list of things he claimed to have done which included building the best economy in the history of the country, rebuild the Military, fix the V.A, cut Taxes and Regs, protect 2nd A, Created jobs, and more.
The Judicial Committee’s vote came after an intense debate of two days, with one sitting that went for 14 hours. The charges are based on Trump’s request to investigate the former U.S vice-president Joe Biden.
Trump also took the opportunity to congratulate fox and friends on being named the number one rated cable news. Not only that, the President of the United States somehow managed to find the time for an abhorrent tweet for the 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg. Trump told Thunberg to chill and to work on her anger management problem, and to go to a movie with a friend.
It is a well-known fact that Thunberg is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, which is an autism spectrum disorder. So, Trump’s dig does not fit well with some people.
In one of the tweets, Trump also promotes his private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. This tweet did result in some chaos and questions on the President’s ethics as it has been noted that guests and members pay for access to the President.
In the myriad of Trump’s tweets, one tweet managed to gain the attention of the former vice-president Joe Biden. Biden tweeted that Trump should give it a rest. Trump, in response, tweeted “Sleepy Joe knows a lot about rest.”
While the U.S President was busy breaking his own record, Judd Deere, a White House spokesperson came to Trump’s rescue by adding “use of technology to communicate directly with the American people should be praised, not criticized”.
He asked the media to focus on Trump’s accomplishment rather than obsess on the number of tweets by the President. While the decision is made, it would be interesting to see what the future tweets by the U.S President will be about.
