Fortnite and PUBG players don’t upgrade to iOS 13 to continue your gameplay

fortnite and pubg cant be played on ios 13 image

If you love Fortnite and PUBG games, just don’t update your iOS to 13.0. Here is why? Apple came up with the new update which caused some serious issues for the game players. In its latest update iOS 13, it added some gestures to give better control over the text editing for its users. Means, by holding 3 fingers on the screen, the text-editing menu will be activated. How is it related to the Fortnite and PUBG games?

Well, Fortnite and PUBG are the games which players need to use 3 or more fingers during the gameplay and here is where the text-editing menu is showing up in the middle of the game. Though it is useful for some apps, it is unexpectedly popping up in some games and interrupting. Many users have already updated to iOS 13 and shared about this gesture bug on the social media. However, it was initially spotted by the 9to5Mac.

The main issue of this gesture bug is that the menu is showing up even in the places where there is no text field which is quite an unnecessary thing. Fornite, PUBG, and other game developers also issued the warning regarding this, that not to upgrade to iOS 13 because of its triple-finger-tap-and-hold gesture bug.

This bug may not be an issue for some apps, but is a serious problem for games like Fortnite and PUBG. PUBG is even showing the warning message due to this bug. While there are many tweets from players regarding this issue, the PUBG Mobile Developer came up with a notice on its mobile version saying that,

We are aware of an issue for players who upgraded to iOS 13.0, where touching the screen with 3 fingers will trigger an iOS function and interrupt the game.

We have already raised the issue with Apple, and we will continue working with them to resolve the issue. We suggest players who play the game with 3 or more fingers do not upgrade to iOS 13.0 until this issue is resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.

In iOS 13.1 beta version there is no such problem and this gesture is working only in the places where there is a text field. PUBG team also said on Twitter that “13.1 should be better for claw players”. This gesture bug won’t long for many days and will be fixed in the coming version 13.1. The next update is expected to release on September 24.

Apple has not yet officially acknowledged the bug but as per the sources, it is going to fix it in 13.1 where the triple-finger gesture will work only in the place where it needs and makes sense. Means, where the editable text view is necessary. However, as a user, you can’t disable such gestures in iOS 13.0 and need to wait until the next update. In 13.1 it allows you to customize where and when the text-editing gestures are active.

There are many complaints on Social Media from Fortnite and PUBG players. Even the game developers can’t do anything regarding this issue except raising the complaint and waiting for Apple to resolve the issue. If you have already updated, just wait for a few days as the iOS 13.1 is coming into the picture to resolve all these gesture issues. If not updated, don’t do it. Just continue playing games with the present version until the bug is fixed.
