Honor Company trying to protect its honor: Introducing new phones in the Honor 20 series

The sub-brand of Huawei- Honor, is releasing new smartphones in the Honor 20 series. The smartphones would be known as Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro. As earlier known, Huawei was already dumped by a U.S trade which prevented the company from buying any parts or components from U.S markets. This had already hampered the company a lot. But the story doesn’t end here. Over the weekend, when everyone else was chilling, it was then realized that the ban also applied for U.S software uses and Huawei would not get any support from Google for any of its Android and other Google related services. This was yet another blow for the company.

While there has been a temporary stay on the ban, the company has to find other ways for the operating system (OS) for its smartphones. Meanwhile, the Honor 20 was spared from this turn of events, as it was already google certified before the ban. Now, it is up to Honor 20 series to protect the honor of Huawei while the company works for finding other methods. Though it would be tough for the Honor 20 series to be a hit in the market as the customers would hesitate to buy phones from a company which has an uncertain future, but the new Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro are the only hope for the company. As per some news reviews, these series of phones would be the last series of the company which would be Google certified.

Now coming to the features of the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro. Both smartphones are quite similar. Both the phones have a 6.26 inch all view display and have Kirin 980 Al chipset along with a 32-megapixel front camera. The only difference is the battery and the storage capacity of both the phones. While the Honor 20 has a 3750mAh battery power, the Honor 20 Pro has a battery power of 4000mAh. The Honor 20 has 128GB ROM and 6GB RAM while the Honor 20 Pro has a ROM of 256GB and an 8GB RAM. Another difference is that the rear camera of both phones is quite different.

The models have the same look as that in the Honor 20 series. The front camera is being made to establish as a pinhole in the top edge just beside the display. Though the Honor 20 Pro is going to be the first phone in the series with a rear quad-lens setup. The phone features a 48-megapixel main camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. The rear camera has a super wide angle lens of 16 megapixels and a 2-megapixel macro lens.in the Honor 20, it has a 2-megapixel depth assist camera.

Another interesting thing that the phone has is the position of the fingerprint sensor. While most of the phones have the fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone, the Honor 20 series has the sensor situated at the side, beside the power and volume buttons. While this invention is not new as we have already seen rear fingerprint sensor in many of the models of Samsung, Sony and many other companies. For now, Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro would be the last phones which are going to be called as Google certified, we have to wait and see what Huawei would do next to protect its honor, once the ban is made.
