Apple updated its Executive Leadership page and Jonathan Ive is not a part of it

Yes, you read it right! And just a piece of information for you guys, no bicker or tension is going on between either, Apple and Jonathan Ive. They haven’t uploaded his biography page because of any mishap or anything; nothing such happened at all.

It’s just Jonathan Ive has left Apple for he has started his designer firm called ‘LoveFrom’ in collaboration with his long-time friend Marc Newson. Nobody knew about it until today when Apple updated its Executive Leadership page with Jonathan Ive biography page left blank. COO Jeff Williams will be taking the responsibility of Jonathan Legacy. Evans Hankey, vice president of Industrial Design along with Vice President of Human Interface Design, Chief Alan Dye, will report to the Williams, chief operating officer.

But as per the rumors, there always has been vast criticism on Evans Hankey’s role for acting more like a manager than a creative designer. Alan Dye did have his biography on the Leadership Executive page, but only for a brief while.

According to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, “Apple will continue to benefit from Jony’s talents by working directly with him on exclusive projects, and through the ongoing work of the brilliant and passionate design team he has built.”

Well, Apple will be the first as well as the prime client of LoveFrom I suppose. For Jonathan Ive, talent has no perfect substitute anywhere. Although, whenever question on his departure was raised, the press release announcement said that the departure of Apple’s design prodigy would happen “later this year”. But I guess nobody knew when this departure was planned and executed. As such being the case, the farewell party of Jonathan Ive will always be a little mystery for the rest of the world.

All that’s now left is to see how the cards play themselves out. Why? You ask because back in 2015, when Jonathan Ive was promoted to Chief Design Officer of Apple, many started to anticipate the departure of Jonathan Ive from that moment onwards, which turned out to be the case when back in later 2017

Jonathan was asked to carry out various necessary responsibilities at the Cupertino office, which was not a very smart move, to begin with! As just after this announcement, another announcement from Apple after only one and half years was followed the departure of Jonathan Ive. And the announcement said that the departure would take place, “later this year” but so soon wasn’t supposed to be!

I guess you get it now that for the past year, nothing has been going on as per the announcement released by the Tech Giant. And the vacant biography in the leadership executive page surely suggests what I said earlier that there’s no perfect substitute for Jonathan Ive talent. At present, Apple has 100 Vice Presidents of various posts in the company, exceptionally talented and better than each other. But that isn’t enough for them to get themselves starred in the prestigious Leadership Executive page of the company.

At present, the page stars the senior Vice Presidents of the Company which includes CEO Tim Cook: Katherine Adams, Eddy Cue, Craig Federighi, John Giannandrea, Sabih Khan, Luca Maestri, Deirdre O’Brien, Dan Riccio, Philip W. Schiller, Johny Srouji, and Jeff Williams. Along with various Vice Presidents’ which includes Lisa Jackson, Isabel Ge Mahe, Tor Myhren, and Adrian Perica. Although the Leadership Executive page of Apple does seem kind of bleak at the moment, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be the case for long!
