James Canda, a man aged approximately 60 was arrested by the local cops in Lebanon for stealing cash register from a café at around 3:30 in the morning. He was found to be hiding under a mattress and the stolen cash register was also found along with him too.
When the surveillance video was reviewed by the business owner and the police together, they found out that the man attempted to enter the cafe and after entering, he went to open the cash register.
On checking surveillance cameras, the police and the owner of the café found out what really took place that morning. The surveillance video showed the burglar broke into the café and then went for the cash register, he tried opening the register but he failed to do so. He fidgeted with some stuff for a long time and then abruptly pulled out the cash register off.
Later when the alarm was set off in Growler Café located in 43 West Grant Street, the police came searching in and rummaged the neighborhood. The police said that although they could not find anybody inside the café, they found proof of somebody breaking into it. They found the 60 years old man hiding beneath the mattress along with the stolen cash register.
After finding the suspect, the police was sure that the man was the burglar, as there was cash register lying beneath him that he pulled off the cafe. Adding to the facts, they also found that the man was in the same cloths as that of the person caught stealing in the surveillance camera.
According to recent news, James faces charges of second-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree burglary, and giving false information to a police officer since at first, James told the false name to the police but was later identified. James Canda was booked into the Linn County Jail for the above mentioned charges. He is wanted on warrants out of Billings, Montana, and was taken to the Linn County Jail.
