‘South Park’ will be leaving its home, ‘Central Comedy,’ and will be joining the family of HBO Max, an upcoming American subscription video-on-demand media service by Warner-Media Entertainment and a division of AT&T’s Warner media on June 2020.
The Entertainment Company has announced its claims over the exclusive streaming rights of the show in the United States of the satirical animated show of Trey Parker’s and Matt Stone’s, which is currently available or can be viewed on Disney’s ‘Hulu.’
The deal is rumored to be between $500 million to $550 million. According to the reports, the bidding was something with cut-throat competition among various entertainment companies. The Boomerang, a subsidiary of AT&T’s Warner Media, bided an amount of around $450 million to $500 million. Whereas, Netflix which seemed to be aiming for not just domestic but global rights of the series, dropped out of the series bidding for this reason as it already has rights of the same in the United Kingdom.

“Audiences have connected with Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny – either alive or dead – for over 20 years, and we look forward to connecting these characters to new audiences on HBO Max.”
