Upcoming Kids Mode on Apple Watch to have updated Activity Rings

There is no doubt that Apple is the most popular brand and Company that is used worldwide. Whether it be their Apple iPhone, apple tablet, or their apple watch, the Company has everything for all. Therefore, it did not come as a surprise, when a leading news channel reported that the iOS 14 and watch OS 7 will come with some updates that will cater mostly to kids. The update will include a school time mode and a kid mode.

The kid mode has been an essential need for parents as now the parent can set up the watch and manage it for their child should their iPhone. As we all know that each Apple watch needs to be connected to a singular iPhone ID, which means each watch is connected to a single phone. So to provide their kids with an apple watch, previously parents used to have an obligation to buy them an iPhone. But that is not needed anymore, as now the child’s apple watch can be controlled from the parent’s iPhone itself. For the child to use an apple watch, there no longer exists the need to buy an iPhone separately for them.

The feature is still under development, and it is expected to be completed and released by the end of this year. In case the Apple Company can incorporate such amazing features in their Apple watch, it will become much better for parents with kids to use them. But the main important question that arises out of the situation is how the activity tracking will work.

For that, 9to5Mac has obtained the code for IOS 14 and has shared the working of the Activity tracker.

The main purpose of an apple watch is to track fitness and health for adults. And their way of doing it is through ECG mainly. But this method is age-restricted and hence cannot provide accurate data for kids. Therefore the Company has been very thoughtful and made some changes to the way they will treat their activity rings when an apple watch is configured to work in the kid’s mode.

There are three activity rings in an apple watch, which is red, green, and blue. The red shows the number of calories burned on walking or running. The green shows the number of minutes spent on exercise each day. And the blue shows the number of hours that are spent on the wheelchair or the stand. The Company will be treating the activity rings as new metrics to monitor activity for younger kids.

The changes that the Company will make to the activity rings will be that they will be changing the red ring to the moving ring, which will show the movement time involved.

In case your child spends too much time on the couch, on the bed, watching TV, or playing too many video games, then this move ring will encourage the children to become more active. The feature will also come with various rewards that they will give to the kids on participating in various outdoor Sports or some other activities.

These are just some of the features that are highlighted in the upcoming updates for the Apple watch. There is also a school time mode that will help your child while he is in the school to stay active and alert. Although the update is still under development, the announcement has taken the market by storm as parents are eager to get their hands on it as soon as they can. The launch is expected to happen by the end of this year, but that is not guaranteed information.

More information about the various functions and the working of the school time mode can be found online or through the 9to5Mac news portal. Whether the watch is going to be a success or not, can be told by the excitement of the parents itself. Apple has surely outdone itself this time.
