Xiaomi launches Mi Box 4S Pro, an 8K streaming box in China

Xiaomi launches Mi Box 4S Pro, an 8K streaming box in China

Xiaomi is bringing an 8K video streaming box, named Mi Box 4S Pro, in China. The product was launched and made an appearance through Weibo. Presently, citizens in China can place an order for this product for 399 yuan, or $60. The pre-orders for this product are starting from midnight on November 5. However, this product is a little more expensive than the Mi Box 4S that costs $43, which has the capability of streaming 4K videos and comes with a storage of 8GB.

The streaming box is associated with a RAM of 2GB. It is also equipped with a storage space of 16GB and is compatible with HDMI 2.1. Although the Mi Box 4S Pro is capable of streaming videos up to 8K, so far, it remains unknown as to whether the 8K videos would be available on all of the services or only on selective ones. One needs to explore whether there could be any other means by which it is possible to have 8K video streaming.

As far as the sound system is concerned, the box is equipped with Dolby Audio and the DTS Sound system, which could attract customers into purchasing it.

The Mi Box 4S Pro makes use of the Xiaomi owned MIUI for running the TV software. According to a source from the organization, presently, Xiaomi has no intention of releasing this streaming box at a global level. “About the Mi Box 4S Pro, we have no global plans to share at the moment”, was what the company representative told Android Authority.

As far as the people in the US are concerned, they have Google’s latest Chromecast that is available, which can do wonders and provide excellent streaming videos. The Google Chromecast is available for $49.99 in the US; however, it does not provide 8K streaming.

Back in 2016, Xiaomi brought about an Android TV streaming player, named Mi Box. This box was sold as Google’s in the US. Then again in 2018, Xiaomi brought about the Mi Box S and opted on selling this via Walmart. Presently, this product is not available to be sold.

Barely a couple of weeks ago, Xiaomi launched the Mi Box 4S, whose specifications were more or less, similar to that of the Mi Box 4. The MI Box 4S came with 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Considering that the Mi Box 4S Pro is coming with a storage of 16GB, there is a good amount of upgrade. Again, the Mi Box 4S supports 4K video streaming, which means, the Mi Box 4S Pro coming up with 8K video streaming support is again a good enhancement.

The Mi Box 4S came with a dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, HDMI 2.0 port, USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a power input cable.

Presently, not many people are opting to go for Android TVs and Android TV streaming boxes. However, it is always fascinating to check out some latest products of this kind and speaking of the same, not all streaming boxes support 8K streaming like the Mi Box 4S Pro.
