Xiaomi Corporation is all set to invest a big heap of $ 7 billion in 5G, Artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things over the coming 5 years. This contribution amounts to more than 50 billion Yuan (Roughly US $7.18 billion). The announcement was made by Xiaomi Chief Executive Lei Jun on Thursday, for whom the previous year has been a specially rewarding year.
Though the news has been doing rounds all over the internet, the details of the said investment have not been made public. Chief Executive Lei Jun made the aforesaid declaration in a letter that was posted on the company’s social media account on Thursday. These days, the artificial intelligence of things is used as a reference to a linking of AI and the internet of things technology.
“We need to turn our continuous advantage we have in AIoT and intelligent life into absolute victory in intelligent full scene, and completely cement our king status in the smart era,” Lei Jun said.Source
The AIoT refers to the same combination, which pertains to an increased internetwork of synthetic intelligence with the internet of things technologies. This talks of an increasing and roaring competition in the world market of AI.
Just the last year, Xiaomi pledged to invest a total of 10 billion yuan over five years cumulatively towards an “All in Artificial IoT” process. The latest investment of pouring a lot more than 50 billion Yuan shows an increase to the previously set threshold. The competition in the sector has been growing manifold, and thus such an investment comes at just the right time.
Xiaomi’s supported Huami confirmed as per the latest reports, that it would launch the Amazfit Bip S smartwatch at the upcoming tech fair CES 2020. The Amazfit T-Rex is going to be the first in a much-awaited series of heavy-duty smartwatches. Weibo, which is the official channel for Huami technology, has recently uploaded a teaser poster where it can be gathered that the Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch would be launched on January 8, 2020.
